I.T.D.D. (9) Personal Report

Over the last few days leading up to the International Tract Distribution Day (I.T.D.D.), the ninth year, I had been in prayer that I might know the help of the Holy Spirit in connection with this exercise. I had already received some encouragement from believers, and indications of participation on the day. I confess that it had escaped me how it would coincide with Christendom's "Good Friday," but realising in time, I expected this to be an advantage, rather than envisaging it as any kind of difficulty.

I looked to the Lord for guidance as to where I should distribute His Word, that contained in the Via magazine, my preferred item of Gospel-centred literature for distribution. I had three localities on my mind and felt I had chosen aright as I set out on my route.

l delivered along the way to my nominated area, including spending too much time in a so-called "Estate." This usually refers to a Housing Estate comprising numerous dwellings. But there were no houses, only buildings used for various activities, art, sport, fitness etc. And although I walked the entire perimeter there were only two letter boxes!

Well I continued posting magazines all the way to my allotted main road. The weather was proving to be unpleasant with short showers of rain; I thought of giving up a few times but the Lord encouraged me. 

My route proper was reached and the number etched upon my mind was175, the house where I had left off some months ago. I began, and after a while it dawned on me that I was delivering to houses all with even numbers! I knew I was on the correct side of the road, and just hoped there would be a rational explanation. Eventually the answer "appeared," a plaque with the name on the road confronted me; I was in the wrong road!

But I understood at once by God's grace, that I was where HE wanted me to be, and it was not a difficult decision to carry on in the way HE was surely leading me. And now I am trusting that this divine over-ruling will be shown to have a very significant purpose. I may not learn its nature here, but I will certainly understand in eternity.

Meanwhile, please pray that every endeavour of every saint participating in the I.T.D.D. will have already redounded to the glory of the "Son of God's love;" in the eternal blessing of many sinners having been, and about to be, saved, and in many saints have been and about to be restored to fulness of joy in fellowship with the Father and with the Son.
